ABC Bonding Company was founded by Hugh A. White. He was among the first African American professional bail bondsmen in South Carolina. Hugh was also the founder of the Professional Bail Agents of South Carolina. In 2005, Hugh was inducted into the South Carolina Bail Agents Association Hall of Fame.

Today, Hugh's wife Edith, and daughter Anna are continuing Hugh's legacy with ABC Bonding Company.
